OAK OF LIFE
Photo Print
At a specific entrance to Audubon Park, there is a striking old-growth oak tree. Hard to miss, I took a photo of its long reach over the walking path. Little did I know this was the Tree of Life, or Étienne de Boré Oak, which has resided in the area since 1740 when it was planted.

ROMAN CANDY
Photo Print
A family business dating back at least four generations,  Roman Candy is a taffy made by Angela Napoli Cortese. The candy was originally just a treat, until her son Sam Cortese saw the clear demand for this product. Enlisting the help of Tom Brinker, Sam Cortese founded the famous trolley which can still be seen active across New Orleans.

LOUD HANDS

Jazz is not a new art form. It’s easy to forget that outside the rules and rigidity of Western music, improvisation has existed for millennia.  From its inception, the art form has had to prove its worth and when it finally became accepted, it left its roots and creators behind.

AN AUDUBON CANAL
Photo Print
There’s a deeply spiritual aspect to New Orleans. One that isn’t from its commercialized and palatable forms of vun-dun or the authentic worship either. Separate from the human aspect of New Orleans is its environment. Lined with natural oak trees, Audubon Park, near Audubon Zoo is a ways away from the bustling Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. There is a peace to the park, one that also reminds you of the problematic history of the area and its namesake.

SPIRITUAL MAINTENANCE
Photo Print
One of the most striking parts of any pilgrim's visit to Kashi/Varanasi is the Ganga Aarti. Brahmin priests perform these rites along the lengths of the ancient cities' ghats. Whats more is the diversity and respect of the audience. With respect and diligence in their focus towards the rituals, few notice the preparations and maintenance behind the prayers. An interesting component across the gamut of “Hindu” rituals at a large scale is the usage of various castes in preparations of prayer.

The maintenance of organized spirituality necessitates the maintenance of hierarchy, yet ironically demands the involvement of those who it excludes.

BOATING ON DAL
Photo Print
Travels to India are often marked by an organized chaos. Yet on Dal Lake, you encounter a serenity that leaves you questioning your whereabouts. The morning azaan is a blessing we here in Hyderabad, yet on Dal Lake its one of the only notable sounds during the day: barring the occasional heron calls and undulating waves.

BHOTIA WOMEN
Photo Print
A photograph of Bhotia women from Tibet, this photograph is part of a collection by Laxmi Narayan Rao that I renovated, digitized, and archived as part of my Ancestry In I efforts.

Profits from these prints will be used to help donate sunglasses to people in the Tibetic regions.

LONE TREE
Photo Print
Amongst the grandiose stature of the mountains, equally as impressive was the resilience of these two lone trees.

LEAVING MEHRANGARH
Photo Print
The sheer scale of this fort when you leave indicates the strength of the Rajasthani peoples who crafted this landmark.
